Oil seals, also known as oil retainers, are irreplaceable in the rotating parts of automobiles. In order to use them more reasonably,Sealdo Technologies Corporation recommends that everyone pay attention to these precautions when using high-temperature oil seals.

1. Shaft speed: Due to design and structural reasons, high speed oil seals should be used for high speed shafts, while low speed shafts should use low speed oil seals. Low speed oil seals should not be used for high speed shafts, and vice versa.

2. Environmental temperature: In higher usage temperatures, polypropylene ester or silicone, fluorine, or silicone fluorine rubber should be selected. And efforts should be made to reduce the oil temperature in the fuel tank. When the temperature is too low, cold resistant rubber should be used.

3. Pressure: General oil seals have poor pressure bearing capacity, and when the pressure is too high, the oil seal will deform. Under conditions of excessive pressure, pressure bearing rings or reinforced pressure oil seals should be used.

4. Eccentricity during installation of high-temperature oil seals: If the eccentricity is too large when the oil seal and shaft are matched, its sealing performance will deteriorate, especially when the shaft speed is high. If the eccentricity is too large, a "W" shaped oil seal can be used.

5. The surface finish of the shaft directly affects the service life of the oil seal, that is, if the shaft has a high finish, the service life of the oil seal will be longer.

6. Note that there should be a certain amount of lubricating oil at the lip of the oil seal.

7. Special attention should be paid to preventing dust from getting into the oil seal. Oil seals are classified according to the rotational speed of the shaft, and can be divided into low-speed oil seals (less than 6m/s) and high-speed oil seals (greater than 6m/s). According to the pressure level that oil seals can withstand, they can be classified into atmospheric pressure oil seals and pressure resistant oil seals. According to the structure and sealing principle of oil seals, they can be classified into standard oil seals and power return oil seals. In addition, according to the material classification of oil seal components, they can be further divided into skeleton type oil seals and frameless oil seals, as well as spring type oil seals and spring free oil seals.

Mastering the reasonable use of high-temperature oil seals mentioned above not only ensures better equipment operation, but also prolongs the service life of high-temperature oil seals. Therefore, everyone can pay attention to it.
