A molded rubber element, generally with a U-shaped, V-shaped, or multi-lip cup profile, seals through elastic preload and deformation under media pressure. Nylon or fabric-reinforced backup rings are often fitted on both sides to prevent high-pressure extrusion. The springless design is simple and robust.
