Based on a metal-cased oil seal, the reinforced auxiliary dust lip directly blocks mud, rainwater, and dust thrown up by the wheel. Molded helical pumping grooves on the primary lip return any thin oil film to the axle housing as the axle shaft rotates, providing a compact and highly reliable rotary seal.
